Last Blog for CRANK.

I finished my book now and Kristina had a lot happen in her life. She moved back in with her mom, sister, brother, and her moms boyfriend. She had been raped by a boy that she liked named Brendan and soon after she realized she had gotten pregnant by the rape. Kristina is still hooked on crack and is dating a boy named Chase who is so in love with her and accepts that she has a baby. Kristina thought that once she moved away from her dads that she would be able to kick the crack habit, but it didn't happen that way. Although she wants to find more drugs in her area; she doesn't have the first clue of who to ask. The book kind of just ended with Kristina wanting to take Bree (the Monster) out of her life but she doesn't know how to get rid of a way of life that has been with her for awhile now.

Addicted?

Between the way Kristina's father lives his life and not talking to her mother, Kristina doesn't know who to turn to for support during her rough time. The only person who keeps her on her toes is a new boy that she has met through her dad. She really likes this boy and she thinks he is really nice but there is one problem; he's does drugs. Kristina eventually falls into the "drug hole" along with her new friend and becomes addicted. She knows she is in a bad place but she doesn't know how to get out because she has already dug her hole way to deep. Aside from her addiction, she is learning how to cope with her new personality, Bree. Kristina feels that "Kristina" is a very quiet person who is shy, keeps to herself and doesn't make herself noticed one bit, but "Bree" is a different story. Bree is a loud person who doesn't care what other people think. She always makes obscene gestures and says exactly what is on her mind. Kristina doesn't really mind Bree because Bree has qualities that Kristina wishes "Kristina" would have.

Second Personality

Kristina is trying to get to know her dad, but she really can't take it being there. She can't stand the way he lives at all. Kristina is very angry at her mother for keeping her away from her father for so long after they divorced. Kristina is also introduced to someone new, Bree. She does not get "who" Bree is yet but is figuring it out. Bree is inside Kristina's body and she is finding out that she has a second personality. As of right now Kristina is still confused about this "other person" and she doesn't exactly know how to handle it.

Kristina's Moving to Reno.

Kristina decides to leave her mother, brother, sister, and step-father and fly out to Reno to live with her father, who she hasn't seen in eight years. When she arrives at first they don't recognize each other, but they soon do and it is pretty awkward at first. On the way to her dads house he tries to make small talk with Kristina but all she gives him are short answers. When they arrive at his house she is not impressed at all. At this point Kristina doesn't think much of her father, and he doesn't really give her a reason to think much of him.

CRANK over-view

Kristina is a girl who doesn't get along with her family very well; her brother is young nieve and spoiled, her mom is emotionally distant, her stepfather is very stern, and her older sister is caught up in an "uncertain sexuality." The plot so far is that Kristina is very confused and has met a "monster" in the mirror. Kristina feels very alone and i think that this "monster" is the other side of her, i think Kristina has Bipolar disease. The theme is really dark, mysterious, and confusing so far. I think CRANK will be a very interesting book the farther i read into it.

what i expect CRANK to be about

Crank seems to me like it might be a creepy book. The cover is black and plain so that's why i think it might be creepy. I think this girl is going to be very unsocial and maybe make up and imaginary friend or maybe she will have split personalities. I think there will be a lot going on in this book to keep me occupied and on the edge of my seat. I usually don't like reading but i think i will like this book because it looks interesting.
